What Do We Mean by Customize?
We throw around the words customize and customization a lot around here when we talk about how much we love sustainable print-on-demand technology. In the three years we’ve been operating, we’ve learned that customizing sometimes carries negative connotations. Customizing sounds exciting but also overwhelming. If you can have anything, where do you even start?
Design Pool makes customizing easy by helping you through this process. Your first stop is our licensable library full of over 600 patterns, all designed with commercial interiors in mind. Don’t worry; you don’t have to sort through all 600 to find one you like. You can narrow your search by a range of criteria to make searching easy.
As you see patterns you like, add them to a wishlist to remember what you want. Create different lists for different projects and use these lists to get approval from colleagues or clients.
Once you have the pattern you want, we connect you directly to a digital printer to print your product. Just click on the product icon you want, and we’ll make the connection. We have printers specializing in upholstery, flooring, wallcovering, acoustic panels, etc.
Next comes the fine-tuning. You can work out details with the printer to ensure the pattern looks exactly how you want it.
What can you customize?
You can change the scale of the pattern.
We intentionally create our patterns in a vector format instead of a raster format. This means that our designs scale easily without losing any clarity of the design.
You can match a specific color.
One of the most popular reasons to customize a pattern is to match a specific color. This can be especially useful when trying to match particular branding colors. In addition, we can tweak colors to match your project’s color palette.
You can add or remove texture.
We design many of our patterns with our signature textural look. This technique takes advantage of digital printing’s unique ability to add an unlimited number of colors to a design. In addition, it adds depth and dimension to a pattern. This technique can give the illusion of a woven fabric, especially when printed on faux leather upholstery. However, we understand some projects require solid shapes and colors. It can easily be removed if you love a pattern, but the texture doesn’t suit your end-use.
What if you need an exclusive pattern?
The patterns in our licensable library are not exclusive. However, we do have options if you need something exclusive. We have a library of proprietary designs that are available to purchase, not license. Due to the exclusive nature of these patterns, you are required to create a free account to view these designs.
Finally, there is always the option of designing a pattern specifically for you and your project. We love working with interior designs to create the perfect pattern. Keep in mind, custom design work comes with an additional design fee, but we always let you know that fee before we start the process. There are never any surprises.
