Peel and Stick Wallpaper; Benefits & Inspiration

No matter where you look, it’s clear: wallpaper is back. From full rooms covered in patterns to bold accent walls, wallpaper is seeing a resurgence in both residential and commercial interior design. This trend includes peel-and-stick wallpaper, a product first designed in the 1970s to make wallpaper a more affordable option. Why would designers choose peel-and-stick wallpaper over traditional wallpaper?

There are five main benefits to using peel-and-stick wallpaper in a room:

1. Easy to apply, easy to remove.

One of the main benefits of peel-and-stick wallpaper is that it is easy to install and remove. The self-adhesive backing makes it easy to install without any of the glues or pastes required in a typical wallpaper installation. Just be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding installation, cleaning, and removal for the best outcome.

2. Limited mess.

In the same way that peel-and-stick wallpaper is easy to apply, it also offers a less messy installation option. With no glue or paste required, all you need to do is follow the instructions, peel, and stick.

3. Great for accent walls.

If you are looking to cover a small section of a space, it is a smart option. It allows you to add a pop of pattern and color to the space without the expense and mess of wallpapering a whole room in the traditional way.

4. Temporary.

The temporary nature of peel-and-stick wallpaper is also beneficial for a few reasons. First, for renters, temporary is critical. Peel-and-stick options allow renters to add wallpaper to their space without worrying about how to remove it when they move out. Plus, a temporary option allows designers and homeowners to refresh their space easily. They can stay on top of trends and always keep things fresh.

5. Affordable.

Peel-and-stick wallpaper is an affordable wallpaper option. Since it is easy to install, designers and homeowners can take on the installation process themselves, eliminating professional labor costs. Plus, most peel-and-stick wallpaper comes with everything you need to install, so there is less need to buy additional supplies for installation.
