Introducing PlanIT Print Works

Design Pool is excited to let you know that a new print service provider is licensing our patterns, PlanIT Print Works in Southern California. We are happy to have them in the mix because their business is a bit unique. They describe themselves as a print solutions company. Unlike other print houses that simply take printing orders and print them, they work closely with a customer to create a print solution that specifically meets that customer’s needs.

Additionally, PlanIT is owned by architectural designers. In fact, they have another business that designs and builds custom residential homes. This stuck out to us because it means they understand the building challenges and current market limitations. They also fully grasp the impact that custom printed interior applications present to contractors.

Who is PlanIT Print Works?

Since 2009, PlanIT Print Works has been dedicated to serving the Southern California market with a variety of small and large format digital color printing services. Their work can be found across many industries, including entertainment, hospitality, trade shows, and interior design. Their customers include sports and entertainment companies, building contractors, hospitality companies, architects, and interior designers.

PlanIT describes itself as a “design based, solutions-oriented company.” They create impactful displays for trade shows, fully themed site environments for sports and entertainment events, and custom interior applications for commercial and residential spaces. They can print on nearly any roll media or flat substrate, including adhesive vinyl, commercial grade wallpapers of various types, metal, aluminum, dibond, plywood, glass, and acrylic.

What can you expect?

PlanIT has been working to promote print technology and custom interior design applications for a few years in their local market. “One of the pushbacks is that interior designers don’t generally possess scalable art images for their custom applications.” Scalability is key. Design files either need to be a very high-resolution if a raster file, or be a vector file. They feel strongly this issue impedes the widespread adoption of custom printed applications in the interior design community.

Thankfully, Design Pool can really help here. All patterns in our licensable library have been designed with scalability in mind. Not only that but they were also designed with interior spaces in mind. They are easily adaptable for wall covering/wallpaper, hanging wall art, commercial ceiling tiles, commercial light covers, floor graphics, and an array of other interior design applications.

PlanIT believes access to our image library is vital to growing in this market. Nearly 1000 patterns are ready for interior designers to start using right away. We can also collaborate on special projects if a custom design is needed.
